PTO Movie Night

The PTO sponsored a movie night last night. Students k-5 and their parents were invited to the high school to watch Toy Story 3. The students were invited to wear their pj's and to bring their sleeping bags and popcorn bowls. Lizzie, her friend, M, and I went. The girls had a giggly good time!

But first, M came over to play after school. What did the girls choose to play? School of course!

All ready to get started!
At this point, the girls were saying - We want the movie to START!
All spread out and ready to watch

The girls BEGGED to play some more after the movie. We told them another time. M was asleep five minutes after getting home. Lizzie went right to bed, but cried saying she was so tired but just couldn't sleep. Poor girl was WAY overtired. I gave her a book and when I checked in on her a few minutes later, she was sound asleep laying on page 4 of Pinkalicious!

GREAT!

Like I said in an earlier post - I KNEW I was doing well. The doctor confirmed that for me today. It was such a great visit. Now I am just waiting for Brian to get home so I can "strongly encourage" him that we need to go to the local Mexican restaurant to celebrate!!

I also signed up to participate in the Stratify 2 research study. Here is a little about it:

JCV Antibody Program in Patients with Relapsing Multiple Sclerosis Receiving or Considering Treatment with Tysabri® (STRATIFY-2)
The STRATIFY-2 Study will identify multiple sclerosis (MS) patients who have an antibody in their blood against the JC virus (JCV). Antibodies are produced by the body’s immune system when it detects foreign substances. It is thought that approximately half of MS patients have antibodies to JCV. The purpose of STRATIFY-2 is to gather more information about how many MS patients being treated with TYSABRI or who are considering beginning Tysabri have this antibody in their blood. We hope to better understand whether the incidence of Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML) in Tysabri-treated patients who do not have detectable antibodies to JCV (antibody negative) is lower than in patients who have detectable antibodies to JCV (antibody positive). At enrollment, and then once a year for the next 2 years, a blood sample will be collected as part of your routine care.

SOLD! Maybe. . .

Someone actually wants to buy one of my pictures!! Holy cow!!! I am looking into how large of a print I can get without losing resolution. Here is the picture in which they are interested.

Neurologist

I go see the neurologist tomorrow afternoon. I KNOW I am doing well. I recently started a walking/jogging program and after two weeks, my legs aren't tingling as much when I am done. I have been feeling well. There have been no signs of a flare up. So what is it about going to see the good ol' doc that makes me nervous? Heck, we aren't even doing an MRI this time! I will just be glad when he says that I am doing as well as I KNOW I am!!

Wacky Wednesday

In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, we had a Wacky Wednesday in kindergarten. The kids LOVED it, of course! We even had to paint each one of Lizzie's fingernails a different color! Compared to the boy who underwear on his head, Lizzie was tame! We sure did have fun trying to pick out a wacky outfit!

Messy hair, 3 pony tails, inside out shirt, backwards shorts, two different socks, crazy nails, her favorite Seuss book and a stuffed animal. This Wacky Kindergarten student is ready to go!
She just walked into the class and was a little surprised to see some boys with their boxers on TOP of their pants!!
Lizzie and her best friend, M, on Wacky Wednesday. You can't see it, but M has her jeans and shirt on backwards.

What a Wacky Day!

Jump Rope For Heart 2011

A big THANK YOU to everyone to donated to the American Heart Association through Jacob. He was the number three collector for his school. It still brings me to my knees when I think of Zach's birth and surgery. I am so proud of Jacob for raising money for the AHA so that research can continue.

Jacob was the top on-line collector. As a reward for that, Jacob received the following:

Yep!! They actually gave Jake a Pogo Stick.

He is on. . .
And then he is off. . .

None of are very good at it yet, but it is a fun thing to try. AND. . .there have been no broken bones so far!!
