Therapy Begins

On Friday, I started my therapy for MS. I have to have weekly injections. The neurologist taught Brian and I how to do it. We practiced on an orange. And then it was time to actually do it. He looked at Brian and started talking about where to give it in the arm. I looked up and said I wanted to do it myself. They both looked a little surprised. But, despite my extreme fear of needles and my propensity to pass out at the sight of one, I DID IT!!! I actually gave myself a shot!

I spent a day and a half panicking about it. I kept looking at it saying the needle was longer than the amount of medicine I would be injecting. But in the end, I DID IT!!! Can you tell I am excited?

The side effects were miserable. I had uncontrollable chills and muscle aches. I kept looking for the truck that ran me over. I was not a happy camper on Friday night, but by Saturday morning, the side effects were gone! These side effects might decrease the more I use the injections. So, now it is just a matter of picking the best time to give myself the injections so that I lose the least amount of time with the family.

By the way, did I tell you that I DID IT MYSELF?!?!?

Mamaw and Papaw Burton Visit

My mom, Jim, Brycen and Pokey the dog came to visit last weekend. They came to watch the boys play basketball, as well as bring some furniture. When my grandparents moved into their new house not all their furniture fit so they gave us some. I am excited to have some family pieces and some things that will forever remind me of them. They gave us the china cabinet that my great grandparents on the Wellman side had when they got married!

We had a nice time visiting. However, I was terrible about taking pictures. Too busy visiting and talking I guess.

Pokey was exhausted after being chased by Sadie.
Lizzie shows off all the Boyd's Bears my grandma wanted her to have.
My mom feeding my nephew, Brycen.
Jim watching Jake's game.
Brycen didn't want to sit still anymore! We had to do some walking.
Jacob takes the ball up the court.
Zach heads up court.
Lizzie decides to crawl around with Brycen.

We had a nice visit and I am still trying to organize our new desk and Lizzie's new furniture!

Just Some Fun Winter Pictures

Crazy Saturday

Saturday, February 6th was quite the weekend of basketball for us. We had 6 games that day. We pulled out of the driveway at 7:45 am and pulled back in at 7:55 pm! But it was fun. Lizzie, Jacob and I did take some breaks from the madness and come home for some down time.

The Magic took home the 4th place trophy. After all their games, they were exhausted.
Zach, number 3, running the point. He played the two man some and he liked that too.

Getting ready for the skill contest.
Jacob during one of breaks!
All in all, a fun day, but wouldn't want to do that every weekend!

Cool Picture For Tonight

The moon was absolutely gorgeous last night through the trees. I just HAD to try to get some pictures.

Dodo and Basketball

Dodo, Brian's mom, came to visit this weekend. She got to spend lots of time watching basketball and hanging out. A word of caution: These pics are not in chronological order - Sorry!

Lizzie and Dodo
Jacob had a game on Saturday.

Getting some coaching on defense.
Zach had two games Friday night and one Sunday afternoon.

Brian kept the book.
Zach was not happy I took this shot. He was determined to play - nose bleed or not so he resorted to the gauze!

As you can see, Jake isn't too aggressive with those rebounds, but give him a few years.
Hmmm. . . Who should he pass the ball to?
Zach's three point shot Friday night.
