Lake of the Woods Fall Photo Shoot 2010

We took our yearly trek to the Botanical Gardens at Lake of the Woods for some picture taking fun. Well, I had fun. The kids don't really enjoy it, but we got some good shots anyway!

Flag Football

Jake is playing flag football this year. He says it is "ok." His team has not won a game yet so that is disappointing. However, he keeps on playing and pushing forward!

7th Grade Basketball

Zach made the Mahomet-Seymour 7th grade basketball team. We are proud of him for all his hard work and determination in making the team. There were lots of kids who tried out and he was one of the 15 who made it!

Players have to dress up on game days. Right down to ties and dress shoes! Makes for a pretty handsome young man, huh?
Paragi - #5!!
Ready for his 2nd game!
Playing Danville Southview. M-S won by 4! It got a little tight there at the end!

This new opportunity for Zach brings lots of changes for the family - two to three games a week, many crock pot meals and 6 am practices to name a few. But thus far, it has been a fun adventure!

Pumpkins, Costumes and Candy - Oh my!

One of our family traditions is painting our pumpkins. It is usually a fun time.

Jake was saying "Why I oughta!!" I love this kid!
Zach's M-S pumpkin. He painted a target on the other side and is trying to convince me to let him shoot it up with the BB gun!
Lizzie painted one side and drew words on the other.
Lizzie's class took a nature walk at school and collected leaves and nature "things." This is her leaf creation.

Long Weekend in Indiana

I love long weekends. Last weekend, the long weekend came just in time. I needed a break. I needed to see family. I needed a small town atmosphere. We had a great time. The kids played with their cousins. I spent time with my grandparents. I spent time with my mom, step-dad, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews - everyone! We shared meals and laughs together. We hit the Farmer's Market. Zach even got in some golf time with his uncle and great-grandpa! I rested and came back refreshed.

Part of the "playground" at my mom's house are these incredible "school bells." Jake woke up the neighborhood Saturday morning!
My sister, Kelly and nephew, Brycen on the way to the Farmer's Market.
Lizzie and Katie start the trek to the Farmer's Market. Notice the minimal height difference? Katie is 3 and Lizzie is 5!!
Then the boys got suckered into walking with them for a while.
Playing on the Merry-Go-Round. Zach would push and push and then jump on. They were DIZZY when they finally got off!
Lizzie and Katie visit Mamaw and Papaw Wellman's house. The door is unlocked but the kids like to ring the doorbell to announce their presence and then burst right in. The cat in Katie's arms did NOT go in with her. That cat was so good natured. All the kids picked it up any which way and it would just purr.
Jake says "More Patty Cake? Seriously?"
Katie and her sister Kelsey. Check out the My Auntie is Awesome shirt!!
Brycen, Katie and Lizzie got popsicles from Papaw Burton!

Lizzie did this a lot this weekend. "Mamaw! Somebody smells!"
Love that baby Kelsey smile!
Poor Lizzie ended up with a fever. Here she is cuddling with Grandpa Ellis.
